This is my brother Spike. When I first met him, I thought he was a dog. I had never met a cat before and I have been around dogs much smaller than him. Spike is twenty pounds. I did not realize it at the time, but Spike did not like me when we first met. I thought he was being playful when he growled and swatted at me. I pounced and bounced in front of him waiting for him to play. I could not figure out why he would not play with me. I kept thinking to myself, "What a weird dog. He does not even know how to play." My parents kept calling him a cat. Now I know cats are very different from dogs. Spike likes me now. We take naps together all the time.

Two Weeks In
Here I am two weeks after being adopted by my family. I was still getting used to everything. As you can see, I do not have much belly hair. My new human parents are realizing I need a doggy sweater because I do not have much fur to keep me warm. This was March of last year so it was a little chilly. At this point, I still did not know what blankets were for. My human parents would put a blanket on me and I would squirm out. In about a month, though, I started to realize how cozy blankets can be!
