That's Not a Dog!
This is my brother Spike. When I first met him, I thought he was a dog. I had never met a cat before and I have been around dogs much smaller than him. Spike is twenty pounds. I did not realize it at the time, but Spike did not like me when we first met. I thought he was being playful when he growled and swatted at me. I pounced and bounced in front of him waiting for him to play. I could not figure out why he would not play with me. I kept thinking to myself, "What a weird dog. He does not even know how to play." My parents kept calling him a cat. Now I know cats are very different from dogs. Spike likes me now. We take naps together all the time.

Two Weeks In
Here I am two weeks after being adopted by my family. I was still getting used to everything. As you can see, I do not have much belly hair. My new human parents are realizing I need a doggy sweater because I do not have much fur to keep me warm. This was March of last year so it was a little chilly. At this point, I still did not know what blankets were for. My human parents would put a blanket on me and I would squirm out. In about a month, though, I started to realize how cozy blankets can be!

The First Day of the Rest of My Life
This was me over a year ago when I was adopted by my current family. I did not know yet that they were going to be my forever home and I was scared. My first family was a foster family and they were very nice. I was rescued from Georgia by a great agency, http://puppiesandmorerescue.org/ They already had a foster family set up for me. I was then adopted by who I thought would be my forever family but they couldn't keep me. Puppies and More Rescue luckily had a policy that if an adoptive family cannot keep a dog, the dog goes back to them so back to the foster family I went. I was there for seven weeks until my current adoptive family found me. On my first day with them, it was snowing. I shivered in the back seat and not only because I was cold. I had an accident in the Petsmart but my new human parents did not get mad at me. In this picture, I am being held by my human dad...I did not yet know I was about to fall in love.

Hi, My Name is Leia
Hi, my name is Leia. Sometimes my human parents call me Dogger or Bawg. Really, Bawg is my secret family name. Strangers call me Leia. Friends call me Dogger. I have decided to start a blog to tell the human world my story.
